Mercedes & Caleb | Coeur d’Alene Engagement Photographer
This session that took place at Heyburn State Park in northern Idaho, just south of Coeur d’Alene, has been one of my favorites since moving to eastern Washington!
Mercedes & Caleb just celebrated their one year anniversary just before this session. We had planned a different location and date, but the got rained out on the first day that we had planned. So, we ended up rescheduling for a sunrise session at Heyburn State Park instead. And let me tell you, I am so glad we chose this location! And as a bonus, they brought their doggie with them as well!! What a cutie!
This particular location is so unique. It’s actually a boardwalk meant for birdwatching, but doubles perfectly as a location for your engagement or anniversary session! I personally love it because there are so many neutral colors that help you and your outfits of choice to stand out against the landscape!
With the mountains in the distance, I just love every little detail of these images, down to their outfits and even the half-bedded-down grass. I normally don’t love patterned outfit choices, but I think that what these two chose really goes well with this location & it looks so cozy for what was a chilly sunrise! If you need any outfit inspiration for your next session, definitely take some ideas from these two!
At the end of the boardwalk, there is a cute little enclosure that has info board. Even though it has some info boards and other structures, I think this is the perfect place! Caleb & Mercedes made this spot so much fun & I am in love with the photos from here! You can definitely see just how much they still are in love after a year of marriage!
All in all, this session and location were so much fun. BUT if you are considering this location, you better be an early riser because the sun is only in a good location for about an hour and a half after sun rise. Sunset just doesn’t do this location justice!
