Lisa & Kyle | St. Paul Cathedral, Yakima WA | Woman’s Century Club

When Lisa reached out to me about her wedding, I was immediately obsessed with her vision to host a wedding in the Woman’s Century Club with a vintage 1930’s theme. As a Yakima, Washington wedding photographer, it’s not often that I get to photograph vintage themed events! And needless to say, she and Kyle nailed the vision! Read on to see just how gorgeous their day turned out!

To start, one of the things that makes a wedding day so amazing as a vendor is getting to work with amazing couples. Lisa & Kyle were nothing short of that, and their friends & family were all so welcoming!

We started the day at their cathedral, which is absolutely stunning! Lisa loves the architecture of this building, and I can see why, so we started their couples photos there. One thing I loved about Lisa and Kyle’s day is that they did everything their way. They didn’t want to make a big deal about the first time they see each other, so we just dove right in to the bulk of the portraits! Doing your wedding YOUR way is so fun, and makes the day so much less stressful.

We also took some portraits in a little alley/walkway on the church grounds. The lighting they had right around 1pm was just perfect for this spot! For their pre-ceremony portraits, we stayed super close to the church in order to keep the morning relaxed. Later, we got to explore, so keep reading to see how gorgeous their sunset photos turned out!

Ceremony

The inside of the church was just as beautiful as the outside – their ceremony was just fabulous. I always love cathedrals for the stunning architecture and creative shots I can get like some of these! In Lisa & Kyle fashion, their ceremony was small, short, and so meaningful! Their priest stood with his back to us so we could see Lisa & Kyle as they listened to their ceremony message. This was such a sweet detail, and not very often seen as cathedral weddings!

Reception

Now onto the most fun part of the day: the reception! After taking a break from the festivities for wedding party photos and family photos, we all headed to the reception! In keeping with the 1930’s theme, Lisa and Kyle opted for the Woman’s Century Club. If you have never seen or heard of this Yakima, Washington wedding venue, you are gonna want to check it out! It was the perfect venue for the smaller wedding Lisa & Kyle wanted. And Lisa and Kyle’s taste in decor was definitely spot on for this venue!

After dinner, there was a live band: The Highsteppers. They were phenomenal and kept the dance floor full the ENTIRE evening. Again, in keeping with the vintage theme, they performed tons of classic hits from the past! It was a perfect mix of slow and party songs all evening!

Sunset Photos

Finally, after wrapping the reception up around 8pm, Lisa and Kyle and I made our way out to the Cowiche Canyon trail for some sunset photos that couldn’t have turned out better! And, since I haven’t talked about it yet, Lisa’s dress was one of my absolute favorites from this year! It was not her original dress choice, but I think it worked perfectly for her. It was so flowy & elegant, but still fit her vintage theme perfectly. Just look how amazing it was for sunset!

As a vendor for Lisa & Kyle, I felt like we truly had the dream team of vendors on the day of. Everything ran so smoothly and we all worked really well together! I would highly recommend any of these vendors if you are planning to get married in the central WA area!

Here’s a few more of my favorite images from their day!
